RAINY DAY

                                                      Rainy Day

Maybe I should have saved those leftover dreams
Funny but here's that rainy day
Here's that rainy day they told me about
And I laughed at the thought
That it might turn out this way

Where is that worn out wish that I threw aside
After it brought my love so near
Funny how love becomes a cold rainy day
Funny that rainy day is here

It's funny how love becomes a cold rainy day
Funny that rainy day is here

In my opinion, and of a thousands of other people, this song, from Jimmy Van Heusen and Johnny Burke, is one of the most beautiful lyrics ever written. It has been recorded over and over again...
Every singer, known and not as famous, had recorded this classic and, if they didn’t, they would have liked to.
Former late-night talk show host Johnny Carson said that "Here's That Rainy Day" by Frank Sinatra was his favorite ballad. Carson and Bette Middler famously sang the song on the next-to-last The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson on May 21, 1992.
It talks about how we should take care of our relationships and should not ignore advises of people who didn’t nourish their's and try to save other people’s love, for their own sake. Let’s say, like a consolation prize.
Today, June 12, Is “Dia dos Namorados” in Brazil although, in a vast majority of other countries, Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th.
Almost all over the world, 2/14 is Saint Valentine’s day. A popular hagiographical account of Saint Valentine of Rome, states that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, persecuted under the Roman Empire. According to the legend, during his imprisonment, he healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. An embellishment to this story states that before his execution he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell.
In Brasil, translated as "Lovers' Day", "Day of the Enamored", or "Boyfriends'/Girlfriends' Day"— is celebrated on June 12 as a holiday for lovers, due to the date's proximity to Saint Anthony's Day who died on June 13, 1231 in Padua, Italy. In addition to having been canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church, Anthony of Padua is recognized as a general in the Brazilian Army. There, Saint Anthony is known for blessing young couples with happy and prosperous marriages.
Celebrations for Dia dos Namorados in Brazil and those for Valentine's Day in most other countries are similar. Typically, couples exchange romantic gifts, such as chocolates or flowers, and they may also share a "date night". Additionally, beautifying home decorations are common as a part of the celebration. The day is festive, with colorful street decorations, parades and carnivals. Common musical celebrations include samba dancing and other folk music. The date is celebrated in a manner similar to the way that Valentine’s Day is, on February 14 in other parts of the world with gifts, romantic activities. However, that expression is not only used in Brazil. In other Portuguese speaking countries, mainly in Africa, Valentine's Day is referred to as "Dia dos Namorados" and celebrated the same Valentine's Day is, in February.   This year, by coincidence, June the 12 is the day on which the World Cup of soccer also starts. Coincidence that never happened before... In Brasil, soccer and it’s fan’s have always had a relationship of love, sometimes even hate, just like in a real romance.
In either case, if you have your sweetheart or even if your love interest is only a soccer game, Happy Valentine’s Day (Feliz Dia dos Namorados) to you... And, don’t ever forget to “save that left over dreams” and put them to a good use, if needed. Maybe, if you do that,  and never let your love “out of focus”, you’ll never need to use advices, which you shouldn’t, unless as s a last resourse.

Happy Valentine’s Day or Feliz Dia dos Namorados to you and to all those you keep inside your heart, and near your thoughts.
