Chemistry
When different elements like a woman, a man
enter, by chance or by choice, in the lab of life;
when unfamiliar beings often strangers by then
think of their own future, maybe husband and wife;
when deepest of feelings, like love, for an instance
are put on a table like food, at stake;
when bodies try contact with a touch, or a glance,
we must be somewhat careful with a judgement mistake
that might lead us to fail and discard a good chance...
If we open our minds, if we don’t fear the fire,
that might warm up our lives, also burn out our skin,
that can make us believe, like a bird on a wire,
making fools of ourselves, being anxious, sometimes mean ,
we may give one the chance to begin the reaction
that on those “elements” it was bounded to start,
not by making conventional chemical interaction,
but my mixing fingers, bodies, lips, even hearts...
Chemistry is complex, only works certain ways.
Reactions are strong, cause explosions and fire.
Some others take hours and sometimes even days,
the strong ones are brief, won’t last, they get “tired”,
the small ones have more time and, once mixed, they stay...
Often we think have experienced before
something strong, in our guts, taking even our soul,
it should grow, it should flourish every day even more...
Infatuation? What happened? It’s not there, where it go?
At least, in some cases, by not being experts,
not knowing, beforehand, in what “elements” we'll be,
we should put those together, being patient, also alert,
and just wait to begin feeling our own chemistry...
